The Treatment Process

What to Expect

Consultation
First treatments start with a consultation where you will complete a brief medical history and injury history form. Both of which will help guide and inform your massage treatment

Assessment
Your massage treatment will usually include an assessment, to help me understand how you are moving and where any pain and / or restrictions are within the body. The assessment may be carried out alongside actual treatment.

Treatment
Your treatment may include some or all of the following techniques:

  • Sports/deep tissue massage
  • Trigger point therapy – to relieve tender spots within a tight muscle
  • Myofascial release – to target restrictions and tension within fascia
  • Muscle energy techniques (MET) – to stretch and strengthen tight muscles
  • Soft tissue release – a stretching technique to target tight muscles
  • Kinesiology taping – flexible tape to support and enhance movement
  • Rehabilitation exercises/stretches
  • Education on self massage techniques for in between treatments – using a foam roller, hot and cold therapy

Your First Appointment

I recommend booking a 60 minute session for your first appointment, this allows plenty of time for consultation, assessment and then treatment.
